From the beginning of May each year large numbers of Humpback Whales head north to give birth and mate in the waters of the Coral Sea. At this time of year they tend to swim constantly north and have regular surface intervals.
The whales use the Inshore Northern current to assist them on the way north. This current passes close to the coast, making this the most spectacular time for Sydneysiders to regularily see the whales.
In conjunction with Harbourcat we are offering Whale Watching trips this winter from May 1 until late October so you too can experience natures wonder up close. Our large sailing catamaran is one of the few sailing vessels that ventures off shore to experience the whale migration so you can enjoy the beauty of the whales under the silence of sail.
