An 8 hour, in person course approved by ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority). It covers VHF (short-range), MF/HF (long range), and GMDSS relevant equipment such as EPIRBs, SARTs and DSC.
Did you know that you must possess a Marine Radio Operators Certificate before you use a marine radio?
Additionally if you have an MF/HF radio you will need a long range licence in order to get an MMSI to register or use the transmitter.
This course is a requirement for those looking to get their IYT Bareboat Skipper, IYT International Certificate of Competence, RYA Yachtmaster, AMSA Master, and Coxswains.
